Completed in 1857, the Yan Yean Water Supply system remains one of the oldest functioning water systems in Australia.
An engineering marvel, it is a rare example of an early continually-operating, water system augmenting the natural water course of the Plenty River and servicing as a repository of drinking water for Melbourne.
Join us on a tour to learn about its historical and cultural significance and future challenges in managing the heritage values of this early water supply.
Lunch, morning and afternoon tea are included.
Cost: $30 per person. Bookings essential.
Presented by Melbourne Water, supported by Parks Victoria and the City of Whittlesea.
